Pittsburgh is blessed with a large population of older trees that unfortunately have to be removed from time to time. Many sawmills will not touch these large urban trees and they often end up having another life as mulch or firewood. Urban Tree works with home owner's and arborist's to utilize these trees, reclaiming them with the purpose of creating one of a kind custom furniture pieces. Owned by craftsman Jason Boone, Urban Tree has been a lifelong dream, but was officially established in 2010. Trained as an architect, Mr Boone has been woodworking for 20 plus years. He grew his passion for wood working at an early age, and today lives his dream creating one of a kind pieces at Urban Tree.
